Tennis falls to Flushing, Figgins remains undefeated
The tennis team fell to Flushing at its Metro Conference opener on April 14 with a score of 7-1.
Junior Alyssa Figgins, at No. 4 singles, was the only player to win her match.
Figgins is undefeated this season.
Due to some players being absent from the match, two doubles teams were affected.
Junior Jordan Gohs, No. 3 doubles, felt like her playing was “off” because of her partner’s absence.
“When my doubles partner is not at tennis I find it harder to play,” Gohs said. “We have developed together throughout the season and know how to properly communicate with each other.
“I enjoy playing with everyone, but my partner and I work together the best, so it’s always difficult to play a match with someone new.”
The team’s next match is at home on April 16 against Holly.
