Boys’ sprint relay takes first at Early Bird

The Kearsley Early Bird Relays were held on April 1. As of The Eclipse deadline, no official team results have been released.

Boys

The Hornets placed within the top three in six relays.

The sprint medley relay team seniors Anton Webster and Jason Clark, junior Matt Parkinson and sophomore Darrion Younger, took first with 1:37.18.

The boys also took second in these events: 800-meter relay, 1:32.07; 1600 relay, 3:31.51; 3200 relay 8:39.52; 4-by-110 shuttle hurdles 1:12.67.

They also took third in the 400 relay, 46.24.

In field events, senior Alex Speer had the third best put of the day, 42-feet, 10 inches.

Girls

The girls’ best relay team finished fourth in the 4-by-100 shuttle hurdles, 1:27.32. That team was seniors Alicia Konsez, Jacqueline Hainer, and Courtney Banks, and sophomore Sadie Saunders.

In the field events, senior Deja Gatica had the third best discus throw of the day, 77-2.
