McKay wins two regional medals for the Hornets

The girls’ track and field team competed at its Division 1 regional track meet May 15 at Davison’s Cardinal Stadium.

Sophomore Ave’r McKay was the only Hornet to score at the regional.

McKay made it to the finals in both the 100-meter dash and the 200 dash.

McKay finished fifth in the 200 dash with a time of 28.20, earning her a medal in this event. She also took sixth in the 100 dash with 13.66, which earned her another medal.

McKay finished the night with 7 points.

Senior Alicia Konsez was the next best runner for the Hornets.

Konsez finised ninth in the 100 hurdles, hurdling a 17.60 in her semifinal.
