Stephen matches personal best in high jump

The girls’ track and field team traveled to Saginaw Valley State University to take part in the SVSU Invitational on a new 300-meter indoor track.

Morgan Stephen jumped 4-8 and tied for eighth place in the high jump, which matched her personal record.

She was pleased with her performance and said she was close to breaking that mark.

“I think this will be the best season for me because I almost had a PR (personal record), which is pretty good since it’s the first meet,” Stephen said. “This also means I still have a lot of time for improvement.”

The Hornets had four athletes finish in the top 20:

High Jump

8th (tie)- Stephen, 4-8

Shot Put

17th- Senior Deja Gatica, 28-3

60-meter Hurdles

19th- Senior Alicia Konsez, 11.38

200 Dash

14th- Sophomore Aver McKay, 28.41
