Girls basketball scorches the Blue Devils
Girls basketball won 70-55 in a Metro League matchup against Lake Fenton Tuesday, Feb. 4.
The Hornets took control of the game early on, ending the first quarter up 17-16.
In the second quarter, the Hornets held on scoring, 24 points to Lake Fenton’s 10.
By the end of the third quarter, the Hornets were up 62-34.
Junior Saniaa Walker led the team with 25 points.
Senior Kamryn Palka pitched in with 15 points.
Palka believes the game was a good victory for the team.
“I think the game went really well,” Palka said. “We all played together as a team and stayed focused the whole game.”
Palka believes the team is looking forward to the rest of the season.
“We’re very optimistic about the rest of the season and believe it’s going to end the way we want it to: with us being conference and district champs,” Palka said.
The Hornets are now 10-4 overall and 9-1 in the Metro League.
They will host Swartz Creek Friday, Feb. 7.
