Boys basketball loses chance of winning season

Over halfway through its season, the boys basketball team lost its chance of having a winning season after losing to Corunna and Waverly.

Junior Braylon Silvas led the team offensively in both games with a combined 27 points.

The Hornets, now 1-11, will take on Flushing at home Friday, Jan 31.

Corunna

Kearsley fell to Corunna 51-41 Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The Hornets got off to a bad start in the game, only putting up six points in the first quarter.

Silvas put up 18 points in the contest.

Waverly

The Hornets’ record fell to 1-11 after their 78-34 loss to Waverly Wednesday, Jan. 29.

None of the Hornets scored in the double digits.

Silvas and junior Avant Adams chipped in eight points each while sophomore Tyler Csintyan chipped in seven.
