Girls basketball won 59-41 against Brandon Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Girls basketball slapped around Brandon 59-41 in a Metro League game Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Senior Sydney Walker led the way with 15 points, four steals, and two assists.

Junior Saniaa Walker pitched in with 13 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists.

Senior Kamryn Palka added 11 points.

Senior JaKeira Wash brought in seven points, six steals, and three assists.

Wash appreciated the crowd enthusiasm throughout the game.

“Throughout the entire game the gym wasn’t quiet,” Wash said.

Wash is proud of the way the team came together to win the game.

“The game was a good team win,” Wash said. “We’re doing really good (this season).”

The Hornets’ victory improves their record to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the Metro League.

Hosting Fenton Friday, Jan. 10, the Hornets will look to stay atop the Metro League.
