Girls bowling stings Trojans in season opener

The girls bowling team started the season with a dominant victory against Owosso Saturday, Dec. 7, winning 29-1.

The Hornets played at Cherry Hill Lanes in Clarkston.

The Baker games turned in favor of the Hornets with scores of 190 and 191 to the Trojans’ 137 and 120, giving the Hornets a 10-0 lead.

Continuing their lead into the individual play, the Hornets led with pinfalls of 1,004 and 844 to the Trojans’ 722 and 563.

The final pinfall favored the Hornets 2,229 to the Trojans’ 1,543. with a final score was 29-1 in favor of Hornets.

Top scores from the match came from juniors Emilea Sturk (238 and 192), Allie Robbins (236 and 174), Megan Timm (190 and 182), and Allison Eible (162), as well as senior Hannah Simms (138), senior Samantha Timm (180), and freshman Sara Ritchie (158).

The Hornets’ victory puts them at a record of 1-0 in the Metro League.

Traveling to Grand Blanc Lanes Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Hornets will play their second Metro League Match.
