Ramey, Richards lead track team at Greater Flint Track & Field Showcase

Girls track placed last at the Greater Flint Track & Field Showcase.

The girls track team finished last out of five teams with 66 points at the Greater Flint Track & Field Showcase, Friday, May 10, at Fenton.

The top three teams were Fenton with 235.5 points, Mt. Pleasant with 125, and Swartz Creek with 110.5.

Senior Mackenzie Ramey placed first in the shot put with a distance of 36 feet, 8.5 inches.

Senior Mary Wheeler placed second in the discus with a distance of 86-09.

Sophomore Linneria Richards took first in the high jump with a height of 4-09.

The 400-meter relay team placed second with a time of 56.11.

The team consisted of junior Amelia Boggs, senior Julie Flahou, freshman Tabitha Cunningham, and Richards.

The same team placed third in the 800 relay with a time of 1:59.15.

Richards placed third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.48.

The team of Boggs, Cunningham, freshman Arianna Morrison, and Flahou placed fourth in the 1600 relay in 4:51.39.

Boggs placed fifth in the 100 dash with a time of 14.20.

Freshman Lydia Boggs placed eighth in the long jump with a distance of 12-00.5.

The Hornets return to action Tuesday, May 14, at Linden High School. The team will face Swartz Creek and Linden.
