Walker, Ramey place first, lead girls track

The Hornets lost to Holly 72-49 and Fenton 97.5-39.5

Sophomore Saniaa Walker placed first in the 100-meter-dash with a time of 13.18 seconds.

Walker also placed first in the 200 dash with a time of 26.98.

Senior Mackenzie Ramey placed first in the shot put with the distance of 40 feet, 2 inches.

In addition, senior Mary Wheeler placed second in the discus event with the distance of 90-03.

Ramey also placed third with an 89-00 discus throw and is happy with her performances this season.

“I feel like most of the season I was in a slump, but on Wednesday I did the best this season,” Ramey said. “I set a personal record in discus and finally hit the 40 (foot mark) for shot put, which I needed right before states.”
