Dress resale to raise money for Junior Class prom

In effort to raise money for the Junior Class and its prom, there will be a dress resale hosted by junior Karmen Bishoff.

The event will be March 19, 20, and 21 in the gym of Burgtorf, the old Pumpkin Patch.

On March 17 and 18, girls can register to sell and drop off their dresses at Burgtorf from 2:30-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Dresses will be available to try on and buy March 19 and 20 from 2:30-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

They will also be sold on March 21 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 2-4 p.m., and 5-7 p.m.

The cost to register is $7 for one dress and $10 to register more than one.

This is the first fundraiser for the Junior Class to raise money for prom, and Bishoff hopes that it will “be a hit.”

“I am excited to see all of the dresses,” Bishoff said. “Hopefully, there is a lot of participation and we can make this a yearly event.”

All unsold dresses must be picked up by the end of the final sale March 21.

Sellers have the option to donate their dresses to Cinderella’s Closet if they are not sold.

Senior Mackenzie Salgat plans to buy a prom dress from the resale due to the expected “lower prices.”

“I think a dress resale is a great way to save money,” Salgat said. “Buying a brand new dress can be really expensive, and people usually only wear their dance dresses once anyway.”
