The competitive cheer team took second at the Hornet Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, the competitive cheer team took second place at its own Hornet Invitational.

In Division 2, Swartz Creek placed first with 758.24 points.

Kearsley earned second with a total of 747.96 points.

Fenton won third with a total of 729.72 points.

Kearsley earned 223.80 points in round one, 221.46 points in round two, and  302.70 points in round three.

Overall, Charlotte had the highest score of the day with 770.70 points.

Freshman Olivia Saxton said that being at home helped her team.

“I think it went as good as it could,” Saxton said. “I do think it made us work harder being at home.”

The next competition is Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Owosso.
