The wrestling team split its home matches within the last two weeks, renewing its record to 2-4 in the Metro League.

During the matches, the team honored its seniors: Ethan Goss, Machai Garza, Duy Nguyen, and Tyler Jamison.

The Hornets will compete next at Clio on Wednesday Jan. 30, going against Swartz Creek at 6 p.m. and Clio at 7 p.m..

Brandon, Clio

On Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Hornets defeated the Blackhawks 44-30 and fell short to the Eagles 48-44.

The team’s double winners were sophomore Rodney Richards, Ruffin, and Garza.

Holly, Flushing

Kearsley fell to the Bronchos 37-28 and defeated the Raiders 49-20 on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Winning both matches were juniors La’Ron Ruffin, Trenton DiGenova, and Tyler Byczinski.
