The jazz band will host a dinner to raise funds Saturday, Dec. 8.

Ms. Alison Phelps, band director, will host a dinner for all students and parents who are willing to donate to the jazz band this Sunday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Tickets are $15.

The dinner will include having the the band students, who will play an hour’s worth of music, serve a three-course chicken dinner and host a silent auction.

Senior Tyler Gronauner, who is part of the KHS band, hopes the fundraiser goes well.

“I hope that this event has a great turnout,” Gronauer said. “The jazz band is still small. I think its a great opportunity for teens to further themselves as musicians. I hope that it helps raise some money for the band program.”

Funding will be used for the students’ Florida trip.

During the trip, students will perform at a festival where they will be judged on their performance.

The rest of the trip will include students attending Orlando Studios.

The band will play many songs, according to sophomore Shelby Conway.

“‘Don’t Stop Believing,’ ‘Bear Necessities,’ ‘Let it Snow,’ ‘Frosty the Snowman,’ ‘I’ll be Home for Christmas,’ ‘Deacons Jack Gospel Shack,’ and a few more,” Conway said.
