Senior Jalen Gallery scored 18 points in the Hornets win against Swartz Creek on Jan. 30.

The boys’ basketball team defeated the Swartz Creek Dragons 64-49 on Jan.30.

Finishing the game with 18 points, senior Jalen Gallery led the team.

Senior Bryce Jenkins chipped in 15 points.

Coach Paul Adas said the team has improved with making free throws. The Hornets (7-5, 5-4) finished the night making 14 of 16 shots from the charity stripe.

“Our free throws have been a big improvement,” Adas said. “I’m really pleased with our execution in the fourth quarter.”

Senior Anton Webster was one of the game’s top performers, scoring nine points, tallying seven steals and seven assists, and pulling down five rebounds.

Adas said Webster is one of the better defensive players he has coached.

“He has been doing a good job this season. He is a defensive stopper and is one of the best defensive players I’ve had at Kearsley,” Adas said. “He leads by example and has been consistent all season.”
