After its third competition night of the season, the quiz bowl team won two and lost one on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The Hornets beat Brandon and Lapeer, but they lost to Flushing.

Kearsley dominated in its first match against Brandon. The final score was 440-245.

Sophomores Connor Earegood and Chris Moyer led the team in questions answered.

The team struggled in its second match against Flushing, losing 275-180. The Hornets tied the match up at the beginning of the third round but could not overcome the Raiders.

The Hornets finished on a high note in their final match against Lapeer, winning 360-130.

Sophomore Cameron Gohs heated up in the round, answering several key questions.

Junior Tyler Jamison also came through with a handful of critical scores, including some in French.

The team is now 6-2 and will play at Oxford on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
