Cheer team snatches second place at Fenton
The cheer team took second place Saturday, Feb. 13, at a competition hosted by Fenton.
Bay City Central rose to first place, while Clio snatched third.
The team earned 221.7 points for round one, 204 points for round two, and 303.1 points for round three.
With a total score of 728.8 points, the team was only 16.14 points away from tying for first.
Senior Alyssa Figgins was proud of how the team performed.
“The competition was very nerve-racking, partially because we lost a flyer last week and the replacement ended up not being able to fly,” Figgins said. “In the end though, the competition went well. We rocked it out.”
The Hornets’ next competition is the district meet, hosted by Fenton, on Saturday, Feb. 20.
