Summer is approaching and The Eclipse has already been thinking about what will become of next year.

Junior Katie Valley, former copy editor, has recently been promoted to editor in chief, which is the top position at The Eclipse.

Junior Kayla Smith, former arts and entertainment editor, was named managing editor, which is the No. 2 position.

Mr. Darrick Puffer, The Eclipse adviser, is excited about the promotions he has made.

“I’m very excited for Katie and Kayla to take over The Eclipse next year,” Puffer said. “Those two put in a lot of extra time and have written excellent stories this year. Even when we have been off on winter break or snow days, those two continued to work hard and write their stories.”

Smith is excited to be doing more for The Eclipse.

“I feel happy because I get to edit more stories,” Smith said. “Instead of editing one genre, I get to edit all of them.”

Valley cannot wait for all the new ideas to benefit The Eclipse.

“I’m most excited about all the new people and ideas that we are going to be getting,” Valley said. “It will be easier to get more stuff out.”
