Golf beats Linden, beaten by Brandon

Junior Tyler Phipps led the Hornets with senior Evan Flood against Brandon on May 5. Both golfers shot a 40.

The golf team defeated Linden 167-171 on April 30, and lost to Brandon 167-162 on May 5.

The Hornets golfed well for their first win against the Eagles.

Senior Evan Flood led the charge for Kearsley, with a mere 38 strokes.

Junior Brian Sams followed suit, shooting a 40, and freshman Jack Vollmar shot a 43.

Linden’s lowest golfer was Buck Hudson, who shot a 41.

Kearsley was less fortunate on May 5, losing to Brandon by five strokes.

The 40 strokes shot by senior Evan Flood and junior Tyler Phipps led the Hornets to a close game.

Junior Brian Sams shot a 42.

The 38 shot by the Blackhawks’ Hunter Taylor was enough to lead his team to victory.

The Hornets’ next event is May 6, at home against Clio.
