Girls’ track loses double-dual meet

The girls’ track and field team lost its double-dual meet against Swartz Creek and Brandon on April 29.

The girls’ track and field team was swept in a double-dual meet at Swartz Creek with Brandon. Kearsley lost to Swartz Creek 97-41 and lost to Brandon 112-24.

The girls took first overall in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 4:36.90. The relay team was juniors Emalie Lewis, Diane Bond, Miranda Lumetta and sophomore Ave’r McKay.

The Hornets top performers were Bond and McKay with 15 1/4 points apiece.

Lumetta scored 7 1/4 points, while senior Alicia Konsez scored 6.

Bond came in first against Swartz Creek in the 800 run with a time of 2:48.5, and also took first in the 1600 run with a time of 6:23.75.

McKay took first in the 400 dash against Brandon with a time of 1:05.24, and she also took second in the 200 dash with a time of 28.21.
