Competitive cheer season comes to an end

The competitive cheer team smiles after their seventh place ranking at the Metro League District Finals

Competitive cheer competed in the Metro League District and Regional competitions over the past two weekends. The Hornets did not qualify for the state championship.

Metro League District Competition:

Competitive cheer took first at Clio High School for the Metro League Districts competition Saturday, Feb. 20.

The Hornets finished with a total of 755.30 points.

Bay City Central earned second place with a total of 731.96 points.

Fenton placed third with 725.28 points.

The Hornets had 230.00 points in the first round, 219.00 points in the second round, and 306.30 points in the third round.

Metro League Regional Competition:

Saturday, Feb. 29, the competitive cheer team took seventh place at the 2020 Metro League Regional competition, held at Fenton High School.

The Hornets’ finished with a total of 756.16 points.

Allen Park finished first with a total of 791.16 points.

Gibraltar Carlson finished second with a total of 788.70 points.

Walled Lake Western placed third with 783.5 points.

The seventh place ending rounded out the competitive cheer season.
