Competitive cheer wins second Metro League competition

Competitive cheerleaders celebrate their victory at Flushing High School Wednesday, Jan 22.

Competitive cheer took first in its second Metro League competition at Flushing High School Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The win ties Kearsley with Swartz Creek for first in the Metro League.

The Hornets finished with a total of 742.16 points.

Swartz Creek earned second place with a total of 704.70 points.

Clio placed third with 698.92 points.

Kearsley had 225.50 points in the first round, 211.16 points in the second round, and 305.50 in the third round.

Senior Sierra Walker is proud of her team after the win.

“The win last night felt great,” Walker said. “I’m so proud of my team and the effort we put in.”

The Hornets’ next competition is Saturday, Jan. 25, at Grand Blanc for the Grand Blanc Invitational tournament.
