Ramey, Wheeler lead girls track at Goodrich
The girls track team placed eighth out of nine teams with 28.5 points at the Goodrich Invitational on Friday, May 3.
Carman-Ainsworth won the meet with 134 points, while Holly placed second with 99.
Lakeview St. Clair Shores’ score of 98.5 came in a close third place.
Senior Mackenzie Ramey placed first in the shot put with a distance of 38 feet, 6.50 inches.
Mary Wheeler, senior, tied for third in the shot put with a distance of 28-04.
The 400-meter relay team placed sixth with a time of 56.81.
Junior Amelia Boggs, senior Julie Flahou, freshman Tabitha Cunningham, and sophomore Linnearia Richards made up the team.
The same team placed sixth in the 1600 relay with a time of 5:07.20.
The Hornets will return to action Friday, May 10, for the Greater Flint Track & Field Showcase at Fenton High School on Friday, May 10.
