They will face Linden on Tuesday, April 30.

Holly

The Hornets carded a 191 to Holly’s 186 at the Flint Elks Country Club on Thursday, April 25.

Senior Logan Loyer led the Hornets with a 43.

Stephen White, senior, had 48 strokes while seniors Tyler Gronauer and Devin Smith had 50 each.

White said he hopes to see a better team performance as the season progresses.

“We had a few good individual scores,” White said. “But, as a team, we failed to shoot how we wanted, so we are looking to improve from our first three matches and move forward during our season.”

Clio

Kearsley shot a 195 to Clio’s 192 at the Flint Elks Country Club on Wednesday, April 24.

Leading the Hornets were Loyer and White, carding a 46 apiece.

Gronauer and Smith followed close behind with a 50 and 53, respectively.

Loyer said the team had bad luck at the match but that he saw personal improvement.

“(Wednesday) was very unlucky for the team as we lost by three strokes,” White said. “We all had chances to close the gap but couldn’t perform. I personally did better than our last match, but I still have room to improve.”

White agreed that the team could have had fewer strokes overall.

“It went fine,” White said. “It is rough because we all know we could have shaved strokes off on bad holes.”
