The Hornets pose in their ending formation for their routine. The cheer team took second at the MHSAA Division 2 district tournament at Linden on Saturday, Feb. 16.

The cheer team advanced to its regional competition after getting second place at the MHSAA Division 2 district tournament at Linden on Saturday, Feb. 16.

Kearsley came about as close as you could get to winning the title. Unfortunately for the Hornets, Swartz Creek edged them out by 0.02 points for the victory.

The Hornets finished as runners-up with 762.40 points, while the Dragons took first place with 762.42 points.

Auburn Hills-Avondale finished in third place with a total of 730.36 points.

The Hornets had 227.40  points in round one, 217.60 points in round two, and 317.40  points in round three.

The cheer team will be going to the regional competition at Fenton on Saturday, Feb. 23.
