Senior Saif Dawan looks to pass to an open teammate against Brandon. The Hornets beat the Blackhawks on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

The boys basketball team defeated Brandon 63-40 in a home game Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Leading the team was senior Saif Dawan with 22 points.

Dawan said he is putting his all into games since it is almost the end of the season.

“We played well as a team and followed the game plan,” Dawan said. “I was just trying to play as hard as I could because that was my second to last home game, so I wanted to finish strong.”

Sophomore Braylon Silvas chipped in an additional 12 points, along with freshman Tyler Csintyan and junior Gequez Pano with nine points each.

Kearsley is now 10-7 overall, 6-7 league.

The Hornets take on Owosso in a home game Friday, Feb 15. The team will celebrate senior night.
