The cheer team performed one of its routines at a league competition Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Holly.

On Wednesday Jan. 9, the cheer team took second at the first Metro League jamboree of the season hosted by Holly High School.

First place went to Swartz Creek with 717.00 points.

The Hornets earned a total of 698.46 points.

Clio took third with 689.02 points.

Kearsley earned 205.00 points in round one, 199.36 points in round two, and 294.10 points in round three.

Freshman Olivia Saxton said her stunt group did well, but as a team there was room for improvement.

“Personally, me and my stunt group did well. But as a team we have some things that we can improve and make changes too so we can be cleaner and more on time with each other,” Saxton said. “But I think getting two out of nine is really good for our first league meet of the season.”

The Hornets next competition is Saturday, Jan. 12, at Stony Creek.
