As high school students, most of us are pretty obsessed with technology.

It’s impossible to walk through the hallways and not see multiple people with their faces down to the screens of their electronic devices.

As a matter of fact, even I’m guilty of that.

Having teachers and parents who were born during a time where there was barely any such thing as electronics or technology, we teenagers rarely get a break from hearing how technology has affected our society drastically.

For the majority of the time, teachers and parents point out the negative side of technology. Our inability to focus for long periods of time and the decrease of physical interactivity because of our technology is all we ever hear about.

But what about the positive effect that technology has on society and education.

Technology has become something that all teachers rely on as a teaching aid.

With the use of SMART boards, projectors, digital cameras, and computers, information is presented in a more interactive way.

Without technology, we have to copy down notes from whiteboards and chalkboards and have our teachers explain the material to us. With technology, we are able to get an audio and visual representation of things through technology advancements.

Technology has made it possible for students and teachers to go about learning in a game-based social environment with websites like Kahoot.

Kahoot is a game-based learning response system where teachers can build quizzes that their students can access with a class-specific code.

Sites like this are an excellent way to study.

In addition, the Internet is loaded with all kinds of information; students find that it is a great tool for collecting information.

You can practically find anything you want on the Internet within seconds.

Thanks to the Internet, you can easily find tutorials, communicate with your teachers via email, and find out more about places and colleges a million miles away from you.

Technology has changed society enormously. There is no doubt about that.

However, some of these changes happen to be good and work as an advantage to us in terms of education.
