Halloween spirit is often generated by carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating.

But most of all, Halloween movies help put people in a festive mood.

Here are 10 creepy movies to watch this spooky season.

Gremlins (1984)

This film is about a teenage boy who receives a new pet called a Mogwai from his father, Randall Peltzer.

Dealing with this new pet, Billy Peltzer must figure out how to control the Mogwai that spawns little creatures who are destructive to anything in their path.

These creatures will take you on an adventure of destruction and will leave you laughing.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

The movie “Hocus Pocus” is about a family who moves to Salem, Mass., and discovers the history of the Sanderson Sisters on Halloween night.

The main character, Max, along with his sister Dani and friend Allison, go to the old Sanderson house.

While at the house, Max summons the witches from the dead.

“Hocus Pocus” takes you on the adventures Max and his friends go on to destroy the Sanderson Sisters once again.

Casper (1995)

“Casper” is a childhood favorite for many people.

In this movie, a girl named Kat and her dad, Dr. Harvey, go to a haunted house.

Her dad’s job is to remove all of the ghosts from the house and help them cross over to the other side.

After moving into the house, Kat stumbles upon a friendly ghost named Casper.

This movie will have your eyes peeled the whole time waiting to see what will happen to Casper.

Beetlejuice (1988)

This film is about a couple, Barbara and Adam, who die in a car crash.

After the crash, the couple walk home and find out that they are now haunting their own house.

Soon a new family buys the couple’s home and Barbara and Adam try their hardest to scare them off, but they fail.

While they are trying to scare the new family, the couple summon Beetlejuice, who is a dangerous spirit.

“Beetlejuice” is a fantasy horror film that will have you on the edge of your seat.

ParaNorman (2012)

“ParaNorman” is an animated movie about a boy named Norman that lives in the town of Blithe Hollow.

Norman can see and talk to dead people in his town.

However, no one believes him about his ability except for his new friend Neil.

Norman must complete an annual ritual in his town in order to keep it protected from a curse that was cast by a witch a long time ago.

Watch this movie to see if Norman protects the town from the witche’s curse.

The Haunted Mansion (2003)

This movie is about a realtor who is called to sell a mansion that turns out to be haunted. He stays at the mansion with his family.

He then learns he isn’t there to sell the mansion. Instead, he was lured there because a ghost wanted his wife.

The family’s past is connected to her, causing the ghost to want her to travel to the after life with him.

Watch this movie to find out what happened in the wife’s family history and to see what happens to the family.

Monsterhouse (2006)

“Monsterhouse” is about a boy and his friends who discover that there is something weird about the house across the street.

Not one of the adults believes them that there is something creepy about the house.

To protect the trick-or-treaters from being endangered, the friends try and stop the bad magic that surrounds the house.

Will they save the trick-or-treaters from the house?

Coraline (2009)

This film is about a girl named Coraline who moves into a new house and discovers a small door.

The door leads to a new world that seems to mirror the actual world.

Coraline thinks that this world is better than the one that she actually lives in.

However, her alternate world parents try and keep her there forever.

Watch this film to see is she gets out.

The Addams Family (1991)

“The Addams Family” is about a man and his family who come across another man who claims to be his missing brother.

The man turns out to be a fake because he cannot recall things that have happened in the brothers’ lives.

During this time, the family becomes evicted from their house because of the impostor.

“The Addams Family” is a great movie that will leave you wanting to solve the mystery.
