Trojans down boys basketball, girls hoops moves into second place

Senior Jack Vollmar led the boys basketball team against Owosso at home Wednesday, Jan. 17.

The Owosso Trojans beat the boys basketball team 48-41 Wednesday, Jan. 17,  at home.

The Hornets scored 13 points in the first half, while the Trojans scored 15.

But Kearsley was  unable to catch up to Owosso’s defense during the rest of the game, leading to the loss.

Senior Jack Vollmar led the team with 14 points.

Junior Saif Dawan scored 12 points and senior Taveon Harris chipped in 10.

Kearsley is now 4-7 in the season and 1-6 in the Flint Metro League.

The next game is Friday Jan.19, at Clio High School at 7 p.m.

Girls Basketball

The girls basketball team is tied for second place in the Metro League after beating Owosso 58-24 on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

The Eclipse received no other statistics from the game.

The Hornets are 7-4 overall, 5-2 in the league.
