Junior Kyle Langworthy is eager for the bowling season to begin.

The boys bowling team is ready to defend its regional and league championships, as well as make a run at another state title after getting knocked out of the tournament last year in the quarterfinal round.

The team this year contains seven bowlers, and everyone that is playing has experience with the sport.

Coach Bart Rutledge feels the Hornets will progressively improve throughout the season.

“I believe the start of the season is a little bit of unknown,” Rutlege said. “I think we will be much better at the end of the season.”

Senior Chase Gebhardt is a key returning player this season for the Hornets.

Rutledge is optimistic on the season.

“It will take a little bit of time for this team to get together and work towards a bigger goal,” Rutledge said. “They boys have good teamwork skills so I believe the future is looking good.”
