Kearsley lost both games of its non-league doubleheader Thursday, May 5.

The softball team lost two games the Richmond Blue Devils on Thursday, May 5.

Kearsley 1, Richmond 3

Kearsley lost to Richmond 3-1 in the first game.

Senior Sydney Ouellette pitched a complete game, giving up four hits and striking out 3 Blue Devils.

Kearsley’s top offensive performers were Ouellette and senior Brook Crow, who each got a hit. Crow earned one RBI.

Kearsley 0, Richmond 9

Kearsley would go on to get mercied by the Blue Devils 9-0 in the nightcap.

Sophomore Olivia Dunsmore took the mound for the Hornets. Dunsmore gave up eight hits and struck out one.

Junior Kayla Meyer and senior Brianna Finley each earned one hit in the game. Finley got one double on the day.

With the two loses, the Hornets are now 13-5 overall and 5-1 in Metro League play.

The Hornets hope to turn things around in their next matchup as they hope to get a couple of wins at Davison on Friday, May 6, at 4 p.m.
