Softball sweeps Swartz Creek
Swartz Creek hosted Kearsley in a doubleheader Tuesday, May 3.

The Hornets beat the Dragons 1-0. It was a pitchers dual as both teams combined for only five hits.
Sophomore Olivia Dunsmore went the distance as she threw a two-hit shutout. She struck out four batters.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Foco, junior Brittney Dick, and senior Brianna Finley were the top performers as they combined for three hits and one RBI.
Kearsley 5, Swartz Creek 2
Kearsley beat Swartz Creek in the latter game, winning 5-2.
Senior Sydney Ouellette pitched a complete game. Ouellette got the win as she only gave up five hits and struck out six batters.
Junior Brittney Dick did well at the plate as she went 1-for-3 and scored two runs.
Foco had a great game at the plate. She went 3-for-3 and drove in one run.
With the sweep, the Hornets are now 13-3 overall and 5-1 in Metro League play.
In addition, Kearsley is tied for first place in the league with Fenton and Linden.
The Hornets hope they continue playing well as they prepare for their next home game against Richmond on Thursday, May 5 at 4 p.m.
