Don’t let acne spoil your confidence

Growing up, I have always been told, “You can see your blemishes more than other people can.”

And, oh boy, is that true.

Waking up in the morning goes one of two ways; I am either rejoicing that one of my pimples has finally healed, or I am horrified to see a new one is on its way.

Heads up girl, I am coming to ruin that cute little chin of yours.

Pimples, blackheads, zits, and red marks always find a way to come at the worst time.

Oh, you have an important date this weekend? Let’s see how they feel about looking into your third eye.

I have tried creams, serums, light therapy, and home remedies — I think my next option is straight acid.

Not only are we told that we are quick to point out our flaws, but we are also told that there are people in a lot worse situations than ourselves.

Regardless of thinking about people struggling with worse acne, each and every one of us is always looking for ways to boost our confidence, such as trying to clear our skin.

This is a cruel game we play; too bad the zits will always win. We always win.

It is hard to tell ourselves that acne is just a part of life, and that everyone will eventually suffer through it.

Big or small, we all suffer with it.

Bumps and scabs, red marks and blotches, everyone has experienced it.

Don’t you worry, I plan on ruining your friend’s faces too.

Struggling with acne is something that should not be taken lightly if you seem to never catch a break from it.

Talking to a dermatologist can be pricey, but it will help in the long run.

Using a medicated cream or taking medication, such as a pill, may be recommended by your dermatologist.

Never use medication that is not prescribed to you.

Oh no, please don’t go to the doctor. I won’t be able to ruin your perfect face anymore.

Personally, having visited the dermatologist, I highly recommend going if your budget permits.

It is always going to be hard reminding ourselves that everyone will experience an awful zit or pimple, but it is all just part of growing up.

Don’t let a little blemish ruin your confidence.
