Softball splits with Fenton
Softball hosted the Fenton Tigers on Monday, April 25.
Kearsley 6, Fenton 4
Kearsley beat Fenton in the first game 6-4.
Senior Sydney Ouellette pitched a complete game. Ouellette only gave up seven hits and struck out five batters.
Junior Hannah Scully, Ouellette and senior Syerra Burene provided the most offense, combining for four hits and four RBI.
Junior Sidney Wager only got one hit, but it was the most important hit of the game, as she hit in the two winning runs to end the game.
Kearsley 4, Fenton 11
In the nightcap Fenton beat the Hornets 11-4.
Sophomore Olivia Dunsmore pitched the complete game, giving up 11 hits with two home runs and striking out six batters.
Junior Brittney Dick and senior Brianna Finley played well at the plate, each earning two hits.
Junior Chloe Jankowski had no trouble getting on base as she got two hits with a double and a triple.
With the split, the Hornets are now 11-3 overall and 5-1 in Metro League play.
Kearsley hopes to get a couple of wins as it prepares to play against Brown City at home Thursday, April 28, at 4 p.m.
