Softball sweeps LakeVille in a doubleheader, remains undefeated

The Hornets’ softball team beat the LakeVille Falcons 19-3 on the road in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday, April 12.

Sophomore Olivia Dunsmore pitched for the Hornets in the first game. She gave up six hits and struck out four Lakeville hitters.

Seniors Sydney Ouellette and Brianna Finley led the Hornets offensively.

Ouellette had three hits, including a home run. She also knocked in four runners.

In addition, Finley had five RBI off of two doubles and a single.

Senior Brooke Crow had a single with three RBI, while junior Chloe Jankowski hit a double.

Kearsley 8, LakeVille 0

In the nightcap, Kearsley shut out LakeVille 8-0.

Ouellette pitched a complete game, giving up four hits and striking out five batters. She also recorded a double.

Junior Brittney Dick and sophomore Kaitlin Foco led the Hornets offensively, garnering two hits apiece.

Senior Brooke Crow and juniors Jankowski and Sydney Wager had no problem producing runs. Each girl had two RBI apiece.

With the sweep, the Hornets push their undefeated record to 4-0.

The softball team looks to get another sweep when they host Flushing on Thursday, April 14.
