Transform your trash into treasures

It seems as if in our society when something we own becomes old, we tend to just throw it out.

With a little bit of free time and imagination, you would not need to ever throw anything out, but for better use, recycle it into something new.

Instead of wasting the objects we own, here are five easy, yet crafty, ideas to turn your old trash into treasures.

1. An old door to a picture frame

If you have an old door with windows anywhere in it, you can make it into a large picture frame.

By framing the outside of the window with wood and filling it in with pictures, a vintage wall piece is created.

It looks good in any living room or even bedroom.

Of course, old doors can also be used in a variety of ways to add a creative flair to any room.

2. Use an old ladder as a bookshelf

If you have an old wooden ladder that probably cannot do its job anymore, give it a new purpose.

Hang the ladder up on the wall and place all your favorite books inside it.

It’s an interesting, vintage way to organize all your books, and an easy way to fill space too.

In addition, you can either leave the ladder in its current state, which might look old and battered, or paint it to match colors in your room.

3. Your initial with flowers

If you want a quick and easy way to add some decoration to your room, all you need is a piece of wood and some artificial flowers.

Take any piece of wood or cardboard and make your initial.

In a random order, hot glue the flowers onto the material in an assortment of patterns.

You will create a masterpiece within minutes.

4. Make a lamp with hot glue and disposable spoons

You’ll need an empty water jug and plastic spoons.

Begin by cutting all of the sticks off the spoons, leaving you with only the tops.

One by one, hot glue gun each piece to surround the bottom.

Then begin over lapping them.

Continue this until it is all covered and stick a light inside.

BOOM. Lamp.

5. A window to a mirror

This one is a little different, but the result is unique.

By taking an old window frame, attach a smaller piece of a mirror to the back.

This can be easily attached with mirror clips.

After you have the frame painted, and mirror in place, you can hang it up virtually anywhere.
