Linden inches past girls’ basketball team
The girls’ basketball team took to the court at Linden, losing 40-36 on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
In the first quarter, the Hornets played about even, scoring 10 points to Linden’s 9 points.
The Eagles would bounce back, however, scoring 15 points in the second quarter.
As the teams broke for halftime, Kearsley trailed 24-18.
Senior Diane Bond was unstoppable in the game, scoring 17 points with one 3-pointer. She did a lot of her damage from the free-throw line, pitching in eight free throws.
Bond also made herself known defensively with seven steals and four rebounds.
Freshman MacKenzie Ramey also played well, scoring six points.
In the second half, the Hornets played well, outscoring Linden 18-16, but were unable to come out with the win.
With the loss, Kearsley is 3-13 overall and 1-10 in Metro League play.
The Hornets host Fenton next Friday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m.
