The wrestling team traveled to Yale High School on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to take on the Bulldogs and won 45-27.

Six Hornets led the Hornets with with pins, while one wrestler won by a decision.

Seniors Merrik White and Coi Jenkins and juniors Dylan Tarrence and Reese Harburn all pinned their opponents.

In addition, sophomore Andrew Ruhstorfer and freshman Zach Moore registered pins.

Only two matches ended in a decision. Kearsley won one and Yale won the other.

Junior Dominic Buterakos won his match 8-5.

In addition, MichiganGrapper.com released its first individual rankings on Dec. 16.

Four Hornets made the top 10.

In the 103-pound division, Ruhstorfer is ranked No. 2, while senior Travis Wildfong is in the No. 5 spot at 140 pounds.

Harburn is ranked No. 6 at 189 pounds, and Tarrence has the 152-pound division’s No. 8 ranking.
