Make music memories with friends this summer

Every summer teenagers find ways to fill their summers with epic memories — memories formed by music.

Concerts bring people together to enjoy their favorite artists and bands.

Junior Sadie Farrington, who saw Green Day back in 2012, encourages students to attend concerts.

“I think concerts are fun because the audience sort of has a mutual bond. Everyone shares the love of a certain type of music, and at that moment strangers become friends,” Farrington said.

Farrington is not sure if she is going to any concerts this summer, but she hopes to go to at least one.

A Die hard One Direction fan, senior Savanah Sierra attended their concert in 2014.

“It was possibly the best day of my life,” said Sierra. “I saw Zayn Malik, who is too pretty for me to elaborate on. Also, his voice is like a euphoric bliss. His vocal range and ability is perfection.”

Teenagers do need to keep in mind that concert tickets can be expensive, and they have to put into account the cost of gas, food, and souvenirs.

Senior Christine Murray knows how the costs can add up.

“I spent $160 on Luke Bryan tickets at the DTE last year,” Murray said. ” The T-shirts were $30 a piece, and I spent another $30 on food and drinks. The concert, overall, cost me over $220.”

I think concerts are fun because the audience sort of has a mutual bond.

Remember, the more popular the artist or band, the more expensive the ticket will be.

One way to get a better deal on concerts is to attend festivals. There are festivals that last a few days and have multiple bands.

The Faster Horse Festival  is July 17-19 at the Michigan International Speedway.

The festival will feature Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, and more.

According to Stub Hub, tickets are only $195 as of May 27.

However, if people want to stay on the camp sites, there are fees.

What better way to spend the summer than with friends, music, and experiencing amazing bands. So start saving up for concert tickets and make this summer epic.
