“The Longest Ride” opened in theaters on April 10.
“The Longest Ride,” yet another movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, came out in theaters on April 10.
The movie tells the story of a young couple’s struggle to fit into each other’s lives. Sophia (Britt Robertson) is an art major in college who is planning to move from North Carolina to New York to follow her dreams.
Things are complicated when she agrees to go out on a date with Luke Collins (Scott Eastwood), a professional bull rider, and begins to fall for him.
They cross paths with Ira Levinson (Alan Alda) who is near the end of his life and wishes to reflect on his great love with Ruth.
Through reading his letters to him, Sophia learns that what happened in the past and what is happening to her are not so different.
Young Ira (Jack Huston) and young Ruth (Oona Chaplin) had to overcome a lot to be together, but in the end they were happy.
Sophia realizes from their story that maybe she, too, should fight for her love for Luke.
I found this movie to be very heartfelt and cute. The actors played their parts well and had me tearing up at some particularly sad moments.
I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves Nicholas Sparks, or just any romantic story.
