Dying Light 2: Stay Human
The highly anticipated release of Dying Light 2: Stay Human releases next Friday, Feb. 4th.
Dying Light is a story driven open world game about humanity’s struggle against hordes upon hordes of zombies.
You play as Aiden Caldwell 20 years after the first game, giving you a new cast of characters to survive with.
To survive in this world, you need to rely on your parkour and combat abilities. There are over 200 weapons in the game along with dozens of new combat abilities to use.
The vast open world is full of things to do, find, and explore, and with all of the movement options available you will find exploring fairly enjoyable. Through exploring you can find secrets, upgrades, resources for crafting, and even Easter Eggs which are references to other things from real life or other games, stories, or videos.
The game was supposed to be released in December, but they ended up delaying it so they could finish and polish up the game.
CEO Paweł Marchewka confirmed Dying Light 2’s new release date on Twitter, apologizing to fans for the wait.
“The team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line,” Marchewka said. “The game is complete and we are currently playtesting it. It is by far the biggest and the most ambitious project we’ve ever done, unfortunately, we’ve realized for us to bring the game to the level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimize it”
Some fans were upset by this, but most were understanding as there have been a few notable rocky game launches recently due to games not being finished upon release.
“We are sorry to keep you all waiting a little longer, but we want the game to meet your highest expectations on release and we don’t want to compromise on this.” Marchewka said.
Many are excited for the game as it is one of the biggest game releases of the year so far. One of these fans is senior Conan Prevo.
“I’ve been waiting since I beat the first game in around 2018, so I’ve been waiting for a little while now” Prevo said. “I’m excited to play the game once it’s out because it’s been so long and there has been such a build up of anticipation, I think it’ll be one of the best games I’ve played to date but I guess we’ll have to see.”
