What is the best Christmas song?
Christmas is right around the corner, and with Christmas comes some classic tunes.
Christmas music is a huge part of the holiday. For a lot of people, it gives instant serotonin and really puts you in the Christmas spirit.
According to the Guinness World Record, the best Christmas song is “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey, with over 3,200,000 digital downloads.
Here at Kearsley High School, some students would disagree.
According to sophomore Celestina Ascencio, the best Christmas song is “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber.
¨Its my favorite because it’s a Christmas song made by Justin Bieber and who doesn’t love Justin?,¨ said Ascencio.
Sophomore Austin Potter says the best Christmas song is “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms.
“The song has so many instruments in it and puts a cool twist on normal Christmas music,” said Potter.
Sophomore John Keen says his favorite Christmas song is “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” by Elmo and Patsy.
“As a kid, It was always my favorite movie and the song would always make me laugh,” said Keen.
Junior Sophie Grace Hall says the best Christmas song ever Is ¨Let It Go” by Elsa.
“Throughout the whole song Elsa puts her heart and soul into it,” said Hall, “You can just feel the warmth of Christmas running through your veins.”
Senior Alaina Ryan thinks “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” by Johnny Marks is the best Christmas song of all time.
“It’s the best Christmas song ever and every year I listen to it around this time,” said Ryan.
Freshmen Joe Swanson thinks “I Saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus” by the Jackson 5 is the best song.
“One time I saw my mom kissing Santa so I can relate,” joked Swanson.
Christmas is one of the many holidays celebrated by Kearsley students.
When asked what their favorite Christmas songs were, many students had different selections, but a general consensus was that the holidays aren’t the same without the music.
