Boys basketball beat Bad Axe Tuesday, March 3.

Boys basketball defeated Bad Axe 68-65 Tuesday, March 3.

Junior Jo Coleman led the Hornets with 28 points.

Coleman shot 50 percent from behind the arc, draining six of his three-pointers.

The victory gave the Hornets a more positive outlook going into the district championship.

“It gave us confidence,” Coleman said. “It also gave us something to look forward to for our districts.”

Junior Braylon Silvas chipped in 15 points and six rebounds while junior Jace Chapman had 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Hornets ended the regular season 4-16 and will take on Flint for the first round of MHSAA Division 1 District 4 championship on Monday, March 9, at Grand Blanc High School.
