The boys bowling team competed in two tournaments but missed the opportunity to compete as a team at the MHSAA Division 3 state tournament.

The boys bowling team competed in multiple tournaments last week but missed a berth into the MHSAA Division 2 state tournament.

Flint Metro Conference Singles Tournament

The Hornets competed against a multitude of schools in the Metro League at Grand Blanc Lanes Saturday, Feb. 22.

This was the final Metro League match of the season.

Senior Ethan Burke excelled, finishing second in the tournament and receiving All-League honors.

Sophomore Gage Slagor and freshman Howie Hammond received All-League honors as well.

Regional Tune Up Tournament

On Sunday, Feb. 23, the Hornets bowled at Grand Blanc Lanes to prepare for regional competition.

Hammond received All-Tournament honors.

Unfortunately, the Hornets did not win the tournament.

MHSAA Regional Team Tournament 

The Hornets battled hard at an MHAA Division 3 regional tournament Friday, Feb. 28, at the Gaylord Bowling Center.

The Hornets started off with Baker games of 224, 160, 168, 149, 158, and 152, putting them in eighth place.

When it came to the first individual round, the Hornets bowled a total game of 895, rising up to fourth place.

The Hornets battled all day but  were not able to make up pins in the last two games.

When it came to the singles MHSAA Division 3 tournament, Slagor and Hammond moved on to the next round.

Hammond kept a lead for a long time, occupying first for four games.

Slagor bounced around on the leaderboard but continued to outbowl his opponents.

Hammond finished second and Slagor finished eighth, pushing them forward to the MHSAA Division 3 individual states tournament.

Slagor and Hammond will compete Saturday, March 7, in Waterford for the state tournament.
