Boys basketball fell to Lake Fenton 72-70 in a narrow Metro League contest Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Junior Braylon Silvas scored a career high of 28 points.

Junior Jo Coleman trailed with 24 points.

With a slow start, the Hornets were down 40-24 at halftime.

Kearsley fought back through the third and fourth quarter, scoring 46 points in the last 16 minutes of play.

After setting his highest scoring game, Silvas is proud of his growth this season.

“I definitely think I am improving,” Silvas said. “I have been really focusing on defense which has been allowing me to score more.”

Silvas is optimistic toward the remainder of the season.

“I am excited for the rest of the season,” Silvas said. “(We’re going to) try and flip the season around.”

Kearsley will host Swartz Creek Friday, Feb. 7.
