Boys basketball fell to Holly 51-47 in a Metro League game Friday, Jan. 17.

The Hornets wrapped up the first quarter down by four points but used the second and third quarters to get leverage against the Bronchos.

The fourth quarter started with both teams tied 34-34.

The Hornets fell behind, as they were down 41-38 with three minutes left in the game.

Junior Jo Coleman tied the game up momentarily with a three-pointer.

Coleman added two more points 30 seconds later, giving the Hornets a 43-41 lead on the Bronchos.

The Hornets failed to tame the Bronchos in the last few minutes, allowing Holly to score 10 points to Kearsley’s six.

The Hornets are now 1-7 overall and 0-7 in the Metro League.

They will visit Bendle for a non-Metro League game Tuesday, Jan. 21.
