The quiz bowl team finished in sixth place in the Metro League tournament hosted by Linden on Feb. 25.

Kearsley lost the first two matches of the tournament, causing the team to be knocked out of the tournament.

Flushing won the championship match, and Linden came in second place.

Kearsley took on Swartz Creek in the first match and lost 280-245. Senior Miranda Blaine and sophomore Andrew Flynn each answered three questions.

Losing again, the team was outscored by Holly 275-235. Flynn was the top scorer in this match, answering a total of six questions.

“I felt we could have done better,” Flynn said. “We need to improve our knowledge and reaction times.”

Coach Chris Schmidt agreed with Flynn.

“Being short-handed, we did alright,” Schmidt said. “I do not think we lived up to our expectations though.”
