An open letter to a loved one: I’m here for you
Being a caretaker is extremely difficult, but you make it seem so easy.
But when you try to hide your emotions from me, it isn’t too hard to figure out.
I notice the little things — your aching smile as you tell me it is all right, your wet eyes as you hold your head due to the constant stresses of life.
Yet you never say a word, holding your tongue.
I know you are going through one of the hardest obstacles of life, heartbreak.
You tell me you feel lost, not knowing who you are because of this breakup.
But I know who you are.
You are my best friend and you deserve so much love than you are given.
I want you to know, even with this problem that seems impossible to cross, I will help guide you through it.
We will get past this roadblock together — you and me like it always was.
But I need you to know something, you don’t need anyone to be happy.
You shouldn’t determine your happiness like a scale, tipping back and forth.
I want you to go out with some friends and laugh until your stomach aches.
But most of all, I just want you healthy, both body and mind.
Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.
Love, Hope
