KBH United tied 2-2 with DeWitt/St.Johns on Feb. 21 in East Lansing.

KBH United tied 2-2 with DeWitt/St. Johns at Suburban Ice in East Lansing on Feb. 21.

Holly senior Scottie Brauer scored in the first period, getting an assist by Shawn Larsen and Makenzie Bolton during a power play.

In the third period, senior Evan Flood scored with junior Kross Kenny making the assist.

After overtime, the score remained 2-2.

Holly sophomore Connor Martin, KBH United’s goalie, made 38 saves on 40 shots.

Coach Steven Yuchasz said he was happy with the team’s performance despite ending the game in a tie.

“It felt like a win as the boys never quit and battled adversity the whole time for a tough road game,” Yuchasz said. “IĀ couldn’t be more proud of how hard they worked on both ends of the ice.”

Sometimes after a big game, a team can let its guard down, but Yuchasz said the players did not do this after winning the league championship in its previous game.

“I was happy that the boys were ready to play after clinching the Flint Metro (League) on Wednesday night,” he said.
